From day one here at Aprigo we’ve been fanatical about being market driven and close to our customers (We call them Design Partners here). Our Launch, Listen, Learn (L3) mantra has many advantages. Perhaps the greatest advantage in working with Design Partners from the beginning is that you get to know them, their pains, the solutions they look for, what they would buy, and how they would use it (sometimes different than how we imagined).
Aprigo has always been about data, and the people that manage that data. Our Design Partners are IT Pros in mid-size companies, and are ready to take advantage of the next generation in IT management software, SaaS IT Management.
We’ve been in stealth mode for a while and today we’re lifting the veil on our first product, Aprigo NINJA. Aprigo NINJA is the first step in providing a suite of SaaS IT Management Essentials to IT Pros that have mountains of unstructured data (files) to manage. Aprigo NINJA is FREE (not a trial) and allows IT Pros to see what’s going on in their data environment with some really cool new capabilities:
- SaaS IT Managment – no servers to install, no backups or networks to configure, just sign-up, install the SaaS client (Aprigo NINJA), and go
- Unique Visual Interaction Model – actually see what’s going on and interact with your data environment (not in excel tables)
- Collective Intelligence – perform real anonymous IT benchmarking to see how your environment compares to others
- Built-in Cost Calculator – assign a $/GB/year value to see how much certain data is really costing you
We’ve already been surprised to see how many different use-cases our Design Partners have found for Aprigo NINJA, from getting rid of unwanted data (Users sharing MP3’s on the network shares, or vacation photos and videos might not be so pleased), to understanding how much it really costs to keep old data around (like when 50% of your files haven’t been touched in 3 years), and proving to your boss that other companies really don’t keep such old data on primary storage.
As we round out the Suite of SaaS IT Managment Essentials we’ll be releasing our Pro version, which is going to take NINJA to whole new level (maybe even SAMURAI…). Aprigo NINJA is the start, and as we prepare for our Pro version launch later this year we’re ready to start taking on a lot more Design Partners.
We’ve got some amazing functionality in the works to help customers understand more about their data (like who has access to it, or getting alerted before a problem, or even managing data that’s in the cloud).
